Get to work
Frank van Nuus (40) has been a certified clockmaker of antique clocks and barometers for more than 20 years. He has his own business in the city center of Den Bosch. After his education at the vocational school in Schoonhoven, he mastered restoration with a teacher in Breda. “Now I am one of the 73 members of the Association of the Dutch Antiquairs Society, the Michelin star among antique dealers,” says Van Nuus. “Restoring antique clocks is a labour-intensive process.
The clock is a 1780 Worn & Son from Bristol. We have restored the entire case, movement and dial. We have been working on this for three and a half years. The honor of the work is when you can hear ‘its former glory’ of the antique clock again.”
